The start of a Transport Group?

At the Open Space event last week we formed a discussion group around transport and one of the things that we decided was to form a transport group. Please let me know if you would still like to be involved with this and if so please can you let me have some dates when you are available to meet from 12 July.

The discussion centred around a possible Malvern car club, drawing on the experience of setting up the Colwall Car Club. WhipCar was also discussed as having great potential. This allows individuals to hire out their car for others to use for a fee.
An electric bike scheme has also been set up by Colwall Greener, they can be borrowed so that people can try out the journeys they make on an electric bike and see if it would be good for them to buy one. The combination of an older age profile and a very hilly place makes cycling difficult but with electric bikes most of the difficulty is overcome. How could the Colwall Greener scheme be extended to Malvern.
The more bikes we have in Malvern the more the road system will have to be adapted to make it more bike friendly. There was also interest in promoting Public transport.
There was a lot of energy and enthusiasm within the group and it was decided that it would be worth exploring the issues further in another meeting.
