Registering as a website user

Due to a high level of dubious sign-ups, we've currently switched off the ability to register yourself as a site user. We'll probably switch it back on fairly soon, but in the meantime you can use the General Feedback category in the Contact form to ask to be set up.
You don't need to be registered to post a reply to a topic in the discussion area, or add a comment elsewhere, although we'll need to approve it before it appears for others to see.

External insulation - Have you fitted any?

I was wondering if there is anyone localish who have actually externally insulated their property themselves, rather than a company install it for them. The reason I ask is that I invited a big company to assess what they could do for me, however the guy the sent could not answer any of our questions, and their quote was not representative of what we wanted, and certainly didn't tell us how effective their work would be.
